Of course, in reality it isn't all fun and games like it is so often portrayed on that show. Being in the medical field can be one of the most rewarding experiences you can ever have. Knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of so many people can really make you feel like you're walking on clouds and that your life has a greater purpose than merely existing. If you watch the show, you will see the transition the characters go through. Let's take J.D. for example. During his first month in the hospital, it's like a bootcamp for him. He messes up, gets picked on by Dr. Cox, and gets harassed and threatened by the weird janitor. When you start anything, that's pretty much how it's going to be. You'll be scared, lost, confused, and nervous. Now on the show, after that first initial stage, he later becomes a lot more confident as everything starts to become second nature to him. This is how it will be in the real world as well, but it probably won't be as humorous as the show makes it. :)

Going back to the uniforms, one of the things that suck about them is most of them look very plain and dull. Normally, you will want to follow the guidelines in terms of clothing for whichever hospital you are in but if you are in a more relaxed environment and have different choices, you can find scrubs that are a bit more fashionable than the plain solid boring colors.

The life of a nurse is something that those who are trying to get into envy while those who are in the process of becoming one hate and most of those who have arrived are passionate about doing. It's a profession that allows you to change people's lives one at a time. All I can say is that if you are going into nursing for the money, be prepared to have a pretty miserable time. Nursing is something that you have to love to do. You have to really love helping people. I see a lot of people going into this profession just because the pay is good and there is a huge shortage. Perhaps you will find that this is something you were looking for even if you initially did it for the money. But for those who's only purpose is to make the big bucks, well, I guess that's why they make you go through school and stress you out, to weed out the undetermined.

Getting the right uniform like Urbane scrubs will help decrease the dullness of regular scrubs. But nothing will help decrease the dullness of being a nurse if all you're after is the money.
