Finding Cheap Scrubs

Whether you want to find cheap scrubs because you have to or because you question why should you spend any more money than you have to on ugly uniforms, then here's some info to help you find some. One of the things that many nursing students have to deal with is being able to put themselves through school while on a budget. With the rise in cost of everything from gas, food, books, tuitions, and pretty much everything, being able to save money is very important. In the worse case scenario, some of you may even have to take a semester or two off just so you can work to save up enough money to pay for your expenses. I'm not just talking about school expenses either. People need a place to live as well. All of those bills can pile up pretty quickly and unless you have some one to pay for everything, you will want to do what you can to save as much money as you can.

Now just because you want to spend as little as possible on things like scrubs, it doesn't mean you will want to buy them used. Perhaps you can find someone to lend you some but for the most part, you will want to buy them new. Whether you are looking for cheap scrub tops or cheap scrub pants, the best place to find them is online. It's hard to have to go to one of those medical supply shops and search through the tons of scrubs that they have there that pretty much look all the same. Some schools will give you vouchers to help pay for your uniforms but since the economy is so bad right now, a lot of schools are actually cutting that program.

Typically a scrub uniform will run you about $30 - $40. The tops will generally cost you almost twice as much as the pants. You should easily be able to find the pants for around $10-$15 or so. Now that is the normal price. So how can you find them for even cheaper and how do you know what you have found is the cheapest there is? Let me give you some prices to compare to. If you can find cheap nursing scrubs for less than the prices I'm giving you here, than go for them.

Just so you have a base to compare what you find to, here are some prices. For scrub pants, you can get them for around $4-$5. You should be able to find one, two, or even three pocket ones. As for the tops, see if you can find one for less than $5 for a 2 pocket uniform. Now keep in mind that there will be taxes and shipping involved. But all in all, you should be able to get cheap scrub sets, pants and tops, for under $18. If you can find them for even cheaper, then go for it.

Keep in mind that these cheap medical scrubs won't be as high quality as the more expensive ones, obviously. Most likely you will be stuck with plain solid color scrubs but then again, that's all you really need anyway. They may not look or feel as good, but when you are trying to save some money, especially if you are buying more than one set, then it's a good option. You can save up to $30 on two sets if you find the right deals online.

Buying cheap scrubs is just one way you can save some money. By creating a budget, sticking to it, and making some sacrifices, you will be better able to get yourself through nursing school and once you get your license and start working, you'll be in a much much better position and you can buy the more stylish scrubs like Peaches scrubs or Urbane scrubs.
